I really hate to do this on Leap Day, but it’s something I need to do and I’ve been putting it off long enough.

You’ve probably noticed the lack of updates over the past few two-week cycles. The fact of the matter is, as much as I love the idea of having a creative community for multi-gender attracted people, I’m out of motivation to run it. I would’ve been happy to keep it going with just one other non-me post per bi-week, but if I’m the only one doing anything, I don’t really feel like I’m getting a creative boost off of anyone. Moreover, I can prompt myself without dedicating the energy necessary to making a whole post about the prompt.

So, much as I love you all, I’m going to officially stop making prompt and roundup posts. I don’t know yet if I’m going to completely close this community; I may come back to it someday. But for now, I don’t have the energy.

Thanks everyone who participated here, including with likes and reblogs, and especially (a million times) to [tumblr.com profile] bi-space-ace for all the fantastic poetry they provided that helped keep me going for so long. Sorry I didn’t manage to drum up the interest to keep this going.

See you somewhere else on the web, and/or until next time,

Nothing available for this roundup. It happens; sometimes people are just too busy or drained to make things, or sometimes prompts just don't spark anything. Or possibly other reasons I'm not aware of. Whatever the reason, I have nothing to report for this time period.

Anyway: If you actually have posted something over the past two weeks and I just missed it, please feel free to let me know and I'll update the post accordingly! Or, if you've seen some cool artistic thing that's MGA-themed, share a link here or at the Tumblr post; I'd definitely be interested in it, and I'm sure the rest of the MGA Creative folks would as well. Alternately, maybe you don't have a Tumblr or a Dreamwidth account, but still have something you want to share; in that case, post the thing you're sharing, or a link to it, in the comments here and I'll be sure to signal boost it.

And whether or not you have anything to share or to say, I wish you plenty of creativity :)

Phew, sneaking in right by the deadline! I don't know how I convinced myself I still had another week; glad I decided to double-check.

Anyway, our new prompt is Gifts.

Is it something you're literally giving to another person (or to people)? Is it another name for talents? Who all is involved in this, anyhow?

Tell or show me all about it, and I will feel truly gifted :)

And now, back to "Pretending it's still yesterday," the hit new technique for community mods who oversleep!

[tumblr.com profile] bi-space-ace wrote a lovely pair of mirrored poems for Visibility called Invisible

And [personal profile] soc_puppet/[tumblr.com profile] bisexualbaker made a pair of Bi-noculars, doubling up on the Visibility and Puns prompts, which can be found at both Dreamwidth and Tumblr.

And that's all I'm aware of for this posting period. If I've missed you, please let me know in the comments here or in a reblog at the Tumblr post, and I'll be sure to update the post to include you. Likewise, if you've created something you'd like to share since the last roundup post and don't have a Dreamwidth or Tumblr account, or if you have a link to something cool and creative and MGA-related that you didn't make, I would like to welcome you to share in the comments section of this post.

Thanks, everyone, and here's to more creativity!

Ack! That was just supposed to be a nap! How did it turn into 8+ hours? /)_(\

I know, we'll just pretend it's still yesterday. That'll totally work, right? Right!

Our next prompt is New Horizons. It's all about exploring new possibilities, and learning new things. On the cusp of a new calendar year, I thought it was pretty appropriate.

So, for ideas:

* Write something about a new discovery, about yourself or about the world around you/your character
* Been meaning to try a new art style, or a new craft? This is your opportunity! Then share the results with us :)
* Try going literal and painting/drawing/coloring an actual horizon
* Consider a song mix with all new-to-you artists, or a new-to-you style, or themed on discoveries and exploration
* Got a monologue on the subject you really like? Perform and record it, then share it here!

I hope this prompt opens you up to new possibilities, and I look forward to the results :)

Woo, posting something here after sharing it on Tumblr! That is definitely something I am still capable of doing, even if I haven't done it in a while and my left shift key doesn't want to work anymore.

Hello, everyone! I know this is usually the day when I do a response roundup and post a new prompt. Unfortunately, I seem to have caught something analogous to Con Crud due to the past two weeks at work being hyper-busy, so I'll be taking this week off and postponing the roundup post and new prompt to next Monday. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to all the creativity you'll have to shower the world with in the future :)

Time for our next roundup post :)

For I Wish, the fantabulous [tumblr.com profile] bi-space-ace provided us with not one, but two poems!

The rather melancholy I Wish, and the anticipatory A Bit of Luck.

Ack! How did it get to be the other Monday already? I swear the last one was just a few days ago...

In any case, here is our new prompt: Visibility

I know visibility is an important topic to the MGA community especially, considering how often we're overlooked. Essays, rants, and raves on that topic are more than welcome for this prompt.

Or maybe you want to go more literal, and share the story of a MGA ghost? Or take the opposite, and write something that focuses entirely on the other senses.

Perhaps now's the perfect time to break out that neon-colored yarn you bought on a whim when it was in fashion a year or two ago*.

Buy some glass color and paint up some cheap reading glasses, to see the world through MGA-colored lenses!

Original connect-the-dots pics might be kind of fun to make for something like this, or paint-by-number.

There's a lot of fun possibilities here, so I hope you find one that works for you :)

There's plenty to round up this week, thanks in no small part to a signal boost from [tumblr.com profile] bi-puns :)

For Puns, we had the following responses on Tumblr:

From [tumblr.com profile] barbidreamdumpster, a beautiful pastel biceratops. For extra awesome, the design is available on Redbubble, and "profit will be donated to [tumblr.com profile] biwomensupport, a survivor-led resource to support bi women who have experienced sexual violence."

The mod of [tumblr.com profile] bi-puns submitted a variety of lovely sand art bottles.

And [tumblr.com profile] bisexualbaker once again neglected to cross-post to Dreamwidth (sorry!), but did manage to provide Pigs In A Blanket and Bisexuoil.

And finally, since prompts never close, for Warm we have:

A surprisingly warm Biro-Ace lap blanket by [tumblr.com profile] bisexualbaker.

Since tracked tags are no longer working on Tumblr, it's not only possible but likely that I missed more submissions. If that's the case, my sincerest apologies! Please link to your post(s) in the comments of the Dreamwidth post here, or reblog with links/pics/what-have-you in the Tumblr post, and I'll be sure to reblog them properly.

If you don't have a Tumblr or Dreamwidth account but still want to share MGA-themed creative things you made, the comments section in this post is also the perfect place to do that. Or if you've found something creative that's MGA-themed but made by someone else, you can reblog the Tumblr post or share a link to it in the comments here :)

And of course, here's to more creativity!

It's the other Monday of "every other Monday", which means it's time for a new prompt!

Opening today is: I Wish.

Writers of poetry and prose, consider writing about wishes that do or don't come true, and the consequences of that. Or just write a list of things you wish for! Reviews, critiques, rants, and essays are also creative writing, so if you've got a load of griping about a show/book/story that refuses to label a character or gushing about one that finally gave you the ship you always wanted, those would totally be welcome. Wishes come true, gone awry, or still waiting to be voiced.

There's also stars to think about, since so many people like to wish on them. They'd be a great visual theme for graphic artists. Or draw something you wish would come true - or already has come true.

There's songs about wishes you could reinterpret or collect with an MGA twist, or you could compose your own.

People who make 3D art, you can always make something that you wish existed in real life, like a pan pride colored griffin. Or you can work on something that you wish you'd finished already ;) Write down wishes on colored paper and stick them in a bottle; fold paper cranes in pride colors and take pictures of them swimming through life together. Pour a wish for someone into something you make, and then give it to them.

There's all sorts of ways you can go with this prompt, and I hope you find one (or more!) that works with your style. And then that you share it with us, to inspire us to make more, because creativity is great like that.

Happy creating!

Our third roundup post, a day late but hopefully not a dollar short.

For Warm, we had the following responses on Tumblr:

A sad but absolutely gorgeous and meaningful short story by [tumblr.com profile] bi-space-ace called Staying Warm. [WARNING for monosexism/sapphobia]

A trio of haiku by [tumblr.com profile] bisexualbaker, with accompanying image in bi, pan, and poly pride colors, found here. (Sorry I didn't get around to cross-posting it here!)

And that's all that everyone posted in this last creative break. If you have something you'd like to include but don't have a Dreamwidth or Tumblr account, I would like to encourage you to do so in the comment section here. Similarly, if you've found something creative that's MGA-related but done by someone else, links would be most welcome in the comments! You can also reblog the Tumblr roundup post with links and/or pictures.

Here's to more creativity!

Time for our next prompt! This time it's Puns.

Unfortunately, I'm inexplicably super tired right now (you should see the number of typos I've deleted so far), so I'm going to expand on this and make the roundup post tomorrow. Look forward to it?

Edit: Okay, here we go!

So I know a lot of us love puns. So so much. Bi and large, it's true. Just ask Poly Anna. It's a pan-demic! I'm not omni-scient, but I am flexible! Now's the chance to break out your favorite MGA puns and do something creative with them.

Write a short story with a pun as the pun-chline, or simply filled to the brim with puns!

Find a song that has a different meaning to you as an MGA person than I imagine it's typically perceived by a largely mono-attracted audience!

Draw pan-das and bi-nosaurs and omni-vores and poly-r bears! Or make them out of yarn or fabric!

The world is a wealth of puns at our disposal, so let your witty wordplay be wild and free! And then share it with the rest of us ;)

Our second roundup post, huzzah!

Unfortunately, there's not anything to round up this time, or at least not that I'm aware of. I'll admit, I fell down on the ball a bit myself; I had every intention of crocheting an MGA mermaid or drawing a string orchestra dragon quartet singing MGA scales, but time got away from me.

Still, this means it's a good time to reinforce the fact that the opening of a new prompt doesn't mean that the previous prompt is closed! You can still submit creative stuff inspired by a prompt long after a new one has been posted. If, a year from now, you're in a creative slump and just need a bit of inspiration to get you going, you are more than welcome to browse through prompts long gone, pick one out that gets you going, and post the results. (Goodness, I hope this comm goes that long!)

Of course, there's also the possibilities that A) I've just missed something that someone posted, and/or B) You've created something but don't have anywhere else to post it. So! If you've created something for the prompt "Scales", or just want to share something you made that's MGA-themed but don't have a Tumblr or Dreamwidth account, please do so in the comments here :) I'll make sure to add it to the next roundup post, both here and on Tumblr. Or, if you've made something and I missed it, comment with a link and I'll be sure to add it to the next roundup post.

And that's it for now, I think. Here's to creativity!

Our next prompt is: Warm.

In the northern hemisphere, the weather's starting to get a bit chilly, so I'm sure many of us are thinking of ways we can keep warm. Cuddling up with special someones, making and wearing pride-themed scarves, hats, mittens, etc, drinking warm pride-themed drinks (if there aren't any, here's your chance to come up with some ;) )... I'll admit, I've always got time for blanket scenario stuff!

Meanwhile, in the southern hemisphere, the weather is starting to warm up, while near the equator it's pretty much always warm. What are some fun things you do when it's warm out? Is there someone you do them with? Is going to the beach more fraught, or more tantalizing? Do you hope to see MGA merfolk in the waves? How about sports, or just soaking up the sun? Does the chance to bare a little more skin mean the chance to see or show off special pride tattoos?

How about songs? What sort of music do we have about being warm, or warming up to people?

And then there's anything metaphorical. What warms you up inside (however you choose to interpret that)? What gives you warm fuzzies? What's hot?

As always, the opening of a new prompt does not close the previous prompt; it's just for some new creative ideas. You can still submit projects that are inspired by old prompts at any time.

And of course, the next prompt will go up in two weeks :) I hope y'all can think of fun things to do with this one!

Time for our first roundup post!

The community's just getting started, so there's not a whole lot this time around. I'm definitely looking forward to more in the future!

For Feathers, we had the following responses:

On Tumblr: [tumblr.com profile] bi-space-ace submitted a lovely poem called Wings

On Tumblr and Dreamwidth: [personal profile] soc_puppet/[tumblr.com profile] bisexualbaker offered pictures of a crocheted bisexuowl: Dreamwidth | Tumblr

Okay, the floor is now open. If you don't have a Tumblr or Dreamwidth account and would like to share something you've done, for this prompt or just in general, please do so in the comments of this post :) Likewise, if you've found something elsewhere on the 'net that's MGA-related and creative, you're welcome to link to it so we can all investigate. You can also reblog links or pictures from the Tumblr roundup post.

Thanks, everyone, and here's to more creativity!

Okay, folks, I've got a new prompt for you, and I really think it's a nice, open one: Scales.

I automatically thought of the gorgeous pride dragon art I've seen around on Tumblr, but there's lots of other critters with scales out there. And there are lots of other kinds of scales as well:

* Balance scales (as a baker, I have some experience with this; Libras, this may also be for you)
* Scales of measurement (as in, "on a scale of one to ten", etc; if you like to rec things, this might be a good prompt for you)
* Musical scales (Fanmixers, you could create a mix with each song a different key in a scale! Graphic artists, imagine the beauty of a musical scale with notes in pride colors, or represented by people)
* Scale in reference to size ("not to scale", etc)
* To scale as in to climb ("scale a mountain", etc)

Anything your mind conjures from the word "scale" in any of its incarnations is good!

As a reminder, the opening of a new prompt does not close the previous prompt; it's just for some new creative ideas. You can still submit projects that are inspired by old prompts at any time.

The next prompt will be in two weeks. I hope everyone enjoys this one!

Our first creativity prompt: Feathers.

These prompts are starting points for creativity. You can use whatever ideas they spawn to create things in your chosen medium. They aren’t mandatory; you can submit things that are entirely unrelated to the biweekly prompts, they’re just something that can help jump-start your brain if you can’t think of what to do.

For example, with this prompt, anything with wings comes to mind. I know more than a few people are fond of sexu-owls. Wingfic is always fun, be it original or fannish, or you can share how a certain someone gave your heart or mind flight. Fanmixers, I’m guessing this may be a little harder on you, but if worse comes to worst, you can come up with a song for each letter in the prompt. Or something else entirely!

The prompt is yours to interpret as you see fit. Just keep it MGA related, warn for triggers, and don’t promote phobias or isims in your work (inclusion is okay, such as with autobiographical work or work that pushes back against them, as long as you warn for the isms/phobias and make sure they don’t come off in a positive way). And remember to use the format included in the rules; you can find it in the community profile, as well.

Over all, have fun! I’m looking forward to finding out what everyone comes up with :)

Hello everyone, and welcome! I am pleased and proud to announce that MGA Creative on Dreamwidth is now open for business!

I plan to post the first prompt at some point on Sunday, and it will run for two weeks or so before I post the next prompt. Older prompts will never officially close, so you can still post fills/content for them, but new prompts will help generate more creativity and ideas.

I'll also make a weekly round-up post where you can share links to MGA-themed stuff by other people that weren't necessarily shared here, so we can all revel in the awesomeness of them. I will leave anonymous comments open, so anyone who doesn't have a DW account and doesn't want to get one can share their work there as well.

In the mean time, please post whatever you heart desires, as long as it follows the rules. Stuff you made a few years ago, stuff you just finished today, plans for things you want to make in the future: anything goes! I look forward to everything you want to share. (Though if you're looking for a challenge, I would love an icon for this community ;) Maybe even a layout, if we have anyone that ambitious among our ranks.)

I hope you all have a fantastic time at this community, and that your lives are filled with creativity :)
